Choosing a Guardian

Writing out what is important to you in child rearing can help you better determine who would make a good guardian for your children. Review this list every couple of years to ensure you (and your partner) have a clear picture of who might be best suited to care for your children. In the event your children's guardian needs to take over, you will have left some vital information about your values that the guardian can impart to your children. Share this list with the person you would like to become the guardian of your children -- it's a great way to begin the discussion of duties and responsibilities that are involved in taking on the role of guardian
